CITA strives to actively support the transition to sustainable development, where the Company contributes to economic growth, improvement of community welfare, and environmental sustainability. The Company strives to continue optimizing the business activities to enhance social and environmental responsibility especially in line with the development agenda.

Given the Company's critical role in this sustainability transition, the Company implements a holistic Sustainability approach. This approach guides our daily work and performance, and enables us to optimize our social and environmental activities through innovative approaches. Through these efforts, we aim to become a more forward-looking company and be able to set and achieve our long-term and short-term targets.

Sustainability Roadmap and Framework

We have identified challenges and opportunities to create a short- and long-term Sustainability Roadmap. This roadmap shows the direction for our sustainability efforts in alignment with  to execute our vision and mission. In the short term, by 2025, CITA will focus on strengthening the resilience and sustainability of our business in order to create a positive impact on Indonesia. In the long term, by 2027, we aim to be the Leading Innovator in bauxite mining, unlocking value through sustainable operations and initiatives that will address crucial topics like climate change, biodiversity conservation and community development.

We have developed a sustainability framework and divided it into five pillars, each of which covers key programs of importance, based on risks and activities within the Company. In order to achieve our targets and address sustainability challenges, the Company developed measurement, review, and continuous improvement processes

Sustainability Objective

Each year, CITA updates the progress of the Company's sustainability goals through the Sustainability Report and the Company's website. These sustainability goals include performance targets for employees, operational health & safety, environment, energy and emissions, communities and suppliers. We are pleased to present the new sustainability goals and a summary of progress against them in 2023, which refer to a 2022 performance baseline.
